Our Care Community invited us to join the church who has been serving us, and since we started going, we have found so much blessing, connection, and community there. For the first time, this has given us a church community, family, and friends. It’s so nice to finally have other people to lean on.

The Watsons’ Fostering Story

There were many reasons for the Watsons not to become foster parents, but the biggest reason TO do it outweighed all of the downsides –  that “God’s heart is to help children in need, so ours should be too.” The Watsons also had an amazing support team in place that carried, and continues to carry them, through their fostering journey – the Care Community through Good Shepherd Church Charlotte, in collaboration with Fostering the Family.

Christoph Halverson

The Halversons first adopted after they had been married for 9 months.  They started off by adopting two boys, but added another shortly thereafter.  In short order, they had a biological child as well.

Now with 4 children under the age of four, Christoph says, “It takes a lot, but is very exciting and rewarding!”
